Objects in editor

I've been working on a nifty puzzle level for a bit now, and I want
to put a couple of items in.  Well this worked OK under 0.85, but now that
I'm in 0.87-5, I can't find any objects in the map editor!

Actually, that's not true; I can find keys, and random treasure, but I want
to put a pair of speedboots in, and I can't figure out how to do it!!

Am I missing something simple here?
