And yes.
As a mapmaker I design the maps in that manner there is 5 square
space between places the player can go and the border. This gives
the better feel of continuing world.
If the client vision is changing it crashes the design principles.
The vision have to be fixed in every client (X/PC/Mac) !
And, I think, the server builder should be capable to make
other kind of visual effects like LOS also. For example the
proposed shadowig (that's good ... I played doom also :), or
like blindness or hallucination.
