They are both quite strong at the beginning where their natural
a.c. protect them from being hurt. As they advance they become much
weaker because at least as a fireborn, you can't really kill monsters
which are immune to magic. (for example guards, raas, skulls and
beholders) This makes it pretty much impossible for them to complete
some of the quests. I don't know as much about the quetzalcoatls.

I think some sort of level dependance needs to exist for them so that
they can improve their ac & damage. I'd suggest making some amount of
level dependance, but then I think that other people should also have
a level dependance. Perhaps something more reasonable is a quest
where they can get special weapons/armor that they can wear/use.
