You can indeed remove the summon pet monster spell
from the game entirely.

In spellist.h therer is a big array.  the entries 3-5 i think
have to do with whether you can find wands or scrolls of spells.
An example of a completely turned off spell is 'face of death'
do something similar to summon pet monster.

Mark has said he will fix this bug for the 91.1 version.
