Not in network communication, but it makes it a simple command line,
which is especially nice when the server is crashing frequently.

Perhaps it should be re-written as a perl script--if I knew perl, I
would volunteer.  (That would mean not having to compile it, and
would make modifications, if needed, simpler.)
