I agree on Michael's followup on this - if the difference is just case, that
seems pretty arbitrary.
Since passwords are spoken (or at least that is what is matched against), part
of my rationale for making it case insensitive is that when speaking, you can't
really differentiate a capitilized letter and one that is not.
If the passwords should be similar but not the same, then reverse tthe ie to
ei's or having a different name would make more sense.
