xpm: designing

There is one point to solve in xpm designing. When showed
the map-place there is first drawed the floor and then the
item. But how about the houses or generally object that
should be visible for applying in "you see" window, like
exists.
There is now in shops solved this by drawing the gobblestones
into shop. And the shop is used as floor. But if one want use
some other ground ? Is it new shop to be drawed ?
The other way is to keep ground and exits separate and
combinatory. In this case there is lost ground in "you see"
window. But this somewhat common way.
