This should have been fixed in the current CVS version.

Is this /Lake_Country/Butakis/prison_e? If so, I have posted a patch
for this map a while ago. I think it should be in the CVS repository.
The solution I have used is to replace the bullet wall with a generator
and use movers to force the monsters to move toward the button, then use
a lightning wall to kill the monsters there in order to trigger the
button repeatedly.
