  • NOTE: Use GTK version 2.10.11 for Windows 2000 and newer

Windows Requirements:

  • Microsoft Windows 2000/XP
  • At least 32 megabytes of RAM
  • At least a Pentium-class processor

  • At least 256 color depth

Win32 GTK Client Installation HOWTO

Note: Screen shots are using the Firefox browser on Windows XP Home Edition. While the version specific text has changed - the general information & instructions still apply.

  1. Download the GTK-Runtime-Environment
    http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gimp-win/gtk%2B-2.10.11-setup.exe

  2. Download the GTK-Runtime-Environment

  3. Open or Launch the GTK-Runtime-Environment .exe file

  4. Select a language and click on OK

  5. Follow the instructions from the Installation Wizard by clicking on Next

  6. Select an installation directory - the default location should be fine, click on Install

  7. Click on Finish

  8. Download the latest snapshot or version of the Crossfire GTK Client

  9. Wait for the client file to download

  10. Locate and double click on the .exe file or use the open file feature of your browser

  11. In the Setup Wizard, click on Next

  12. Read through the License Agreement, if you agree, click on the I agree

  13. Install the client to the default location unless you have a reason to do otherwise, click on Install

  14. Click on Finish

  15. The client will launch for you automatically, or you can run the client from your Start menu
